We recently engaged with Chris of Magowans to do a comprehensive survey of the flats that I live in. It is share of freehold where I live and we wanted a professional to come in and help us understand what urgent repairs need doing and what can wait so we can plan out spend over the years to keep the building running and all the flat owners happy. Rather then builders tell us what needs doing.

Chris was very friendly, efficient and helpful. The report arrived in good time and was very clear on what needed doing straight away and what could wait. I would definitely recommend for anyone buying a home or doing what i have just done, it was a very good service and he has also been very helpful with further questions that I had after his report came through.

All in all a 5 start service.

Would thoroughly recommend using Magowans. I used them for the Homebuyers Survey Report. I found that they were quick to respond, promptly booked into visit the property and I got a comprehensive report which was easy to understand within a couple of days of the visit. When ringing around companies to book the survey, Georgina was very helpful in explaining the different survey options and what might be best for our purchase, including the option to upgrade to a more detailed structural survey if Chris, the surveyor, though appropriate when on site. The final report was clear and detailed, and Chris was happy to speak through any queries or questions shortly after it was sent to us. He explained aspects which were more technical in clear language, and provided more information on potential next steps. Throughout our communication with Georgina and Chris, they were both very personable and responsive both on the phone and in email.

I spoke with Georgina on the phone after calling a few other surveyors and she instantly stood out because of her helpful manner. She took the time to explain what we would need in detail and even said we wouldn't need the more expensive survey based on what I had explained about the property we wanted the survey for. She gave us the option to upgrade to the other survey if necessary. The survey was arranged quickly and for a good price. The report was very thorough and was sent back two days after the survey was completed. Would definitely recommend!

The team at Magowans was highly recommended to me and my partner, and after appointing them to conduct the survey on my purchase I completely understood why. Their friendly and experienced approach gave us the confidence we needed to proceed with our first purchase. The report adopted a precise traffic light system approach, which made it easy to identify items in the report to investigate further, items that would need our attention first and and which items would not required any action, but just made us aware of them.
